Ugh - Why Is There So Much of This Yellow Stuff?

I'm soooo disappointed!

I hoped to use my brand new pressure washer today (since it's not suppose to rain) to finally clean all the grime and dirt off of our screened in porch and deck... and especially get rid of this awful YELLOW tree pollen that is covering caked on all our furniture.

But it's too cold today.

Chilly wind and cold water do not go together well...at least when I am involved.

Burrrrrr.....

Maybe tomorrow will be better.

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I want to sit out on my porch! (...yes, I am whining)

Baby Easter Basket Set All Finished

The baby booties...

The baby bonnet with pretty lilac ribbon tie...

The baby dress back with two pearl buttons...

The baby dress front with a pretty flower and pearl button....

The Easter Basket set...baby blanket, booties, bonnet and dress!

I'm so glad it's all finished.  I had fun making it but I must admit the booties were a challenge.  It took three tries before I finally got it...(duh) you do have to count the stitches to get it right.

The Baby Dress is by Beverly Button and can be found on Ravelry (here).   I really liked this pattern and it was easy to crochet too.  I modified it slightly by adding an extra round of shells on the bottom of the dress in purple rather than adding the picot edging.  I also didn't decrease the neckline either when I added the edging in purple - and I deleted the neck front ruffle.  I backed the flower with felt and sewed it on the dress with another small piece of felt placed behind the dress.   The size is newborn to three months.

I better get this off in the mail soon as my niece is being induced on May 16th!

Happy Easter!

The Easter Basket is a vintage one - my MIL saved it - it was my Hubby's!

May you have a very Blessed and Happy Easter!

Our grocery store Easter flowers!

We had a $10 off coupon from our grocery store that we used to buy our Easter Flowers!

The sun is shining here and it's 75 degrees F.  A lovely day although rain is coming later in the afternoon.

Peek A Boo!

I have two Easter place mats that I use as decorations - one I hang on the fireplace and this one is hanging on one of our doors.

Our Easter Decorations

Pretty Easter Egg Wreath

Finally yesterday I pulled out our Easter Decorations.

Although it was dark and dreary yesterday the rain held off until I was done.

I had to do some "surgery" on my Easter Egg Wreath I made last year.  Several of the eggs had come loose or had fallen off.  So, I got out our glue gun and re-glued the eggs to the wreath.  Hopefully this repair job should last through Easter.  I blogged about this wreath last year (here).  I really enjoyed making this wreath.

I made this cute Easter Egg Wreath with baby chicks!

Can you see the bunnies?

We've been after our landscaper to return and put more grass seed down where it washed away.

Can you see my other bunnies?

Cute bunnies in the windows!

Each of our front windows has either a pink or purple plastic bunny.

Bunnies in the bushes!

And each shrub by the front door has bunnies hanging too!

I hope you enjoyed our Easter Decorations!

Although our weather is warming up (in the 70s F.) we have solid rain predicted for the next four days!

So it looks like we won't be having a sunny Easter...but it will be a Happy Easter!

Wishing you a very Happy Easter too!

There's some PINK in my photos so.....

More Explore and Baby Things!

Another surprise this morning.

Another Flickr photo of mine made Explore!

Spring Time Throw - All Laid Out

That's two of my crocheted throws now that have been picked!

I first posted (here) where I tell a little about Explore.

I'm shocked!

And I can't wait to show you the next project I'm working on.

Here's a sneak peek!

Lemon body and Lilac shell trim!

My first baby dress!

I modified the pattern a little bit.

My first crocheted newborn baby dress!
It's soooo tiny and soooo cute!

This is sized for a newborn to 3 months (...I hope!)

It was easy to make...crocheted all in one piece except the trim.

All I have to do is sew the buttons on the back and add a cute crocheted flower.

As you can see the dress matches my Easter Basket throw.

Next I have to find a cute bonnet and booties pattern to go with the dress.

I hope you have a most wonderful day and I sure appreciate your company!

My Cheap & Easy Easter Garland

Want a cheap and easy Easter Egg Garland?

I saw these large plastic Easter eggs in our grocery store and bought several packages with plans to make an Easter Egg Garland.

I already had ribbons on hand and I gathered up my scissors, thin wire and buttons.

The eggs come apart and at least one end already had a tiny hole.  I cut the wire into strips and fashioned a loop and twisted the ends.  I fed the ends through the hole in the plastic egg.  At first I thought I would use the button to hold the wire in place inside the egg but I found out I didn't need to do that.  I just pulled the wire ends apart inside the egg to hold the wire in place.

Next I threaded ribbon through the egg wire hanger loops and then use different ribbons to tie each egg in place on the ribbon garland.

Here's the finished Easter Egg Garland hanging in my kitchen widow.

This project took about 15 minutes and was pretty cheap considering all I had to buy was the plastic eggs.

We're going to have ham for Easter dinner...just my Hubby and me.  We have a teeny, tiny ham and will probably still have lots left over.

What are your plans for Easter?

Sometimes I just can't believe all the cute images one can find in Flickr.

I found these adorable Easter bunnies and chicks just by searching Easter decorations in Flickr.

I hope everyone is ok with me posting these mostly pinkness photos ~ I know they aren't red ~ but what the heck it's Easter time.

Today I will bring out my Easter decorations and I'm going to make a new Easter Garland with some large plastic Easter eggs that I will share with you this week.

And I found a cute crochet pattern for a baby's dress and I started it yesterday.  It's soooo tiny.  You'll see that soon too.

Spring Time Is Here!

Rivers of Color!

I finished Spring Time - my third ripple throw!

I used a different color combination then I did for Cotton Candy...and didn't have to buy any new yarn just used what I had on hand.

I first blogged about Spring Time (here).

Wavy Stripes!

SpringTime's edging

Winging the edging again!

Spring Time - all laid out...measuring 50 inches by 47 and 1/2 inches.

Here's Spring Time!

I did buy some new yarn last week in brown, aqua and a lovely variation of the two colors...will probably become another ripple one of these days.  I have some of my baby yarn left over in lemon and lilac I hope to try to do a little baby top and booties.   So many choices...I wish I had several hands to work on them all at once.  But I find it is better to start a project and finish it before I start another one.

It's another dark and dreary day here...more rain coming this week...Thursday is the only dry day for the next five days.   We hope to take a day trip on Thursday maybe to the Jersey shore.

I think today I may start to re-watch "Downton Abbey".  I was so disappointed when it aired here in The States recently on Masterpiece PBS to discover that "the powers to be" decided to cut out parts that they didn't think Americans would be interested in so we had a shortened version of the original.  It made me so mad I ordered the original UK edition from Amazon so I can see all of the episodes.

Has anyone else caught the NEW "Upstairs Downstairs" airing on Masterpiece?  I just watched the whole 1970s series on DVD this spring.  Jean March is back as "Rose" albeit older (as we all are!) and now the Housekeeper at 165 Eaton Place.  Just one more episode to see Sunday.  I wish they made more.

Have a lovely day and thanks so much for stopping in to visit with me!

Easter Eggs!

Since both Hubby and I are calorie counting we won't be buying chocolates (sob!) for Easter this year.  But Hubby did ask me to make hard boiled eggs as a treat.  I'll have to decorate some I guess.

But they won't be as pretty as these images I found on Flickr.

Do you decorate Easter Eggs?
