Valentine’s Day

This is not an easy day for me.

Memories of past Valentine’s Days with my sweet hubby are flooding my mind.

Several cries already.

So lonely for him.

My niece and her sweetheart greeted me with chocolate chip pancakes this morning.  They are are a joy to me and so much comfort.

I sliced fresh strawberries last night and piled them on my pancakes this morning.

And a good friend dropped off a Valentine’s gift yesterday.

It’s the first Valentine’s gift I’ve had since my hubby passed.

It was such an unexpected surprise and touched me so much with her thoughtfulness and generosity.

I’m sure she doesn’t even realize what it meant to me.

I’m typing here with romance music playing on my Echo.

I’ve washed and changed the sheets on my bed and laundry is almost done.

I’ve made frosted brownies for a treat today.

We have two rounds of snow forecasted..one after midnight and another coming Tuesday morning.

Three to six inches.

Three fourths of my driveway is icy.  The weather been too cold to melt it.

Usually I’m in Florida at my cousin’s on Valentine’s Day.

My sister-in-law sister’s took this beautiful photo of a lovely deer couple.

She’s quite an accomplished photographer!

Enjoy your day!

❤️Happy Valentine's Day❤️

Valentines, Hearts and Love!

With our move coming up next month we have been very busy.

My poor blog has been neglected.

There just isn't enough hours in a day now to do it all but hopefully once we are moved and settled into our new home our routine will return to normal.

I did managed to finish my last "Party with Patrick" project due at the end of February.

It's an adorable Valentine Table Runner, "Love Is All Around" by designer Patrick Lose.

I had fun choosing the fabric fat quarters with different Valentine themed prints.

This runner had 12 machine embroidered appliquéd hearts to sew.

I used a cute pink backed fabric I bought in an Alaska Quilt Shop several years ago for the binding.

The runner is so colorful in it's pinks and reds.

I loved using two different white background cherry print fabrics in the design.

It really made the red hearts pop out.

I have started breaking down my sewing/craft room and packing all the stuff away.

I have 7 large plastic bins of fabric and 8 of yarn.

I was surprised I had more yarn bins than fabric.

But then again I have been crocheting longer than machine embroidering.

I hope you have a very Happy Valentine's Day!

I did!

Hubby surprised me with three Valentine Pandora charms!

One charm is a heart with "I Love You" lettering and the other two charms have cute jeweled pink hearts all over them.

Love Is All Around Our Home!

Happy ❤️ Valentine's Day ❤️

It's a beautiful ❤️Valentine's Day❤️ here with the sun shining.

Another inch or two of snow fell last night.

It's an unbelievable 43 degrees out.

So pretty!

Have a lovable & huggable Valentine's day.

My Valentine Framed

I added several fabric flanges to my Valentine embroidery today.

As usual I used left over fabrics from my stash.

It's not easy to take a photo of my Valentine framed - those darn light reflections on the glass.

This Valentine machine embroidery design, along with my other holiday ones I've framed previously, are included in this collection - Anita Goodesign Mini Collection "Holiday Tea Towels"

I added some 3M Command Strips to the side of my cutting table to hang my plastic cutting rulers and squares.

So much better.

They're off my cutting table but still within reach.

Happy Sunday Evening to all!

Tonight is another episode of "Downton Abbey" and the start of the third season of "Sherlock".

Great shows to enjoy!

❤️ My Valentine ❤️

I'm starting on my Valentine decorations now that Christmas is over.

Easy peasy to machine embroider this one.

Well, that is easy peasy after months of practicing on my new Janome Horizon Memory Craft 12000.

I will add fabric borders to this design and frame it to hang for Valentine's Day.

And in the meantime I machine embroidered/appliquéd another holiday mug rug.

This one is another Patrick Lose design I purchased on line.

It's a pretty poinsettia design named "Merry Minis Mug Mat" (click here to purchase).

I used fabric scraps in my stash.

I just have to bias bind it.

Patrick Lose has a wonderful video (here) on how to sew a bias binding.

He even tells you on to make a bias binding with a small square of fabric.

I like both of these projects because I used fabric in my favorite color... RED!

Valentine's Hearts Tray

I ran out this morning to stock up on a few groceries before the forecasted snow arrives this afternoon.

While at Safeway I saw this cute Valentine's Hearts Tray for less than $5 and of course I immediately put it in my cart.

Isn't it cute?

{{{White Caps}}}

is coming along.

I have two color sections finished.

I plan to take this project with me to Walt Disney World.

My poor Hubby is sick with a nasty head cold.

He's taking it easy just resting.

He doesn't get sick very often.

I got him some Nightquil to help him sleep tonight.

It's sooooo cold here too.

Brrrrrrrr....

Valentine Decor

Is there a "sweeter" holiday than Valentine's Day?

I don't have much to put out but I love all the Red and White!

I placed my Love & Heart Beanie Babies on our family room fireplace mantel.

Along with the three hearts I crocheted.

I hung my L.O.V.E banner I made over the kitchen sink.

My string of little red heart lights have been up since last year.

Hubby put in under the counter lights for me several years ago.

But I think the red heart lights adds an extra special look and I love them because they're red.

I put out my red heart night light too.

Do you decorate for Valentine's Day?

Happy Valentine's Day!

I finished my second Heart Dishcloth.

This one has a pink heart.

I'm not sure if we will celebrate Valentine's Day at home or go out for supper.

We are leaving for our Florida RV trip to Walt Disney World soon and we'll be eating out quite frequently during the next month.  Home cooked meals for the next few days may be nice and appreciated by my Sweetheart.

So...I'm leaning towards home cooked.

Two hearts...one love!

We'll be stopping in Atlanta on our way to Florida to attend a wedding.

This is the first time we've had to pack fancy clothes for one of our RV trips.

We downloaded some fun Disney apps on our iPhones to play with while at WDW.

Our travel van is sitting in our driveway so we can finish packing it.

Happy Valentine's Day to my Sweetheart!
Thanks for making me feel like a Queen everyday.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Happy Valentine's Day!

My Heart Dishcloth

My HEART belongs to YOU!

My new project - a Heart Dishcloth (free pattern available here).

You can see in the photo that these squares can be made into a lovely throw in pink and white yarn with red hearts.

That's one of my future projects - a pink throw - but for now I just want to crochet a cute Valentine's Day Heart dishcloth.

The Sugar n' Cream 100% cotton yarn is wonderful for dishcloths.

L.O.V.E. at Teacup Lane

I'm so blessed to have the L.O.V.E. of a wonderful, kind, sweet man for 40 years!

We had a lovely Valentine's Day...spending the whole day together.

Hubby took me out to lunch and surprised me with a beautiful gift (...sadly no candy as I'm counting calories).

What a wonderful RIDE it has been!

A beautiful sterling silver PANDORA charm bracelet!

For many years I viewed the PANDORA charm (bead) bracelets in the magazines where the ads featured the VERY expensive 24K gold charms...way too much money to spend I would say to myself.  I'm not into jewelry the way a lot of women are...but I always liked the pretty colorful beads in these bracelets.

But then recently I discovered PANDORA does have less expensive charms...and cute ones.

Hubby surprised me with a charm bracelet...he picked out the charms!!...one charm with red hearts and the other with my birthstone.   It's so pretty!  And comfortable to wear too.

Now I can have fun adding charms to my bracelet!

The first charm on my wish list is the....ta da...Teddy Bear!   They have both a Teacup and a Teapot charm...and a Rabbit charm!!!!  And they have Christmas charms too.   This is going to be fun!

Thanks Sweetheart!

I Love You!
