Another Elf….joins the Gang!

You can't have too many ELVES!

Before I crocheted "Pebbles" I made another boy "Elf on s Shelf.  

This time I tried a different method on his face. 

This is what he is suppose to look like.

I used embroidered thread on white felt and cut out the felt and then attached his "eyes" to his face. 

Embroidering his face is a learning process.

One eye, eye lashes and eye brow done along with his mouth.

The face all done.  

Not sure but he may look a little scary here.  

LOL !

I brought his hairline down more on the sides.

 A comparison…

I guess it's not too bad of a face.

Attaching the head to the body is loads of fun (…NOT).  

I had to tack it down so it wouldn't wobble.

The "Elf" is resting.

First elf is to the right, followed by Miss Elf and the last elf is one the left.  

The gang is all here except for "Peebles".  

She's resting somewhere else.

I'm done with elves this Christmas.

I'll show you my Granny Square Stockings I crocheted for my front door soon.

And I'm working on another Santa too.  

I was surprised and happy to have more decorations to put up than I realized between what I had in my Christmas China Cabinet and my Christmas sewing projects.

But no trees or outdoor lights this year…sob!

Oh, and I have one photo of my new Ohio kitchen cabinets to show you soon too.

"Pebbles"

I think this will be my last "Elf on a Shelf" crocheted toy. 

But I couldn't pass up crocheting a little girl elf. 

I thought I would try using pink yarn for her cheek bobbles.

I like it - they show up so much better.

I gave her an orange top knot!  

Doesn't that make her look like Fred Flintstone's daughter, "Pebbles"?

I experimented with her face using yarn instead of embroidery threads.  

Yarn was easier to work with and the results are better too.

So, do you like my little girl elf?

Missy...my Girl "Elf on a Shelf"

Here I go again.  

I had to try crocheting a little girl "Elf on a Shelf"!

Stitching her head and elf ears.

Practice helps.  

I did much better this time on the narrow legs and arms.  

Using the stitch marker and counting carefully made the difference. 

All the pieces ready to be stitched together.

As usual the face features are the hardest for me.  

It's not easy hand-embroidering her eyes and mouth.

Still have to add her long brown locks!

I added some long hair by crocheting chain loops around the head. 

The happy couple!

And I crocheted up a cute little apron for Missy.

My Birthday Elf & Cake!

I'm so glad I made it to 68!  

So is my crocheted Birthday "Elf on a Shelf"!

My sweet Hubby made my Brithday so wonderful.  

He bought me some Pandora charms (a Fairy, a Castle and a Christmas Teddy Bear).  

And now he is on his way to pick up our take out dinner for tonight.  

No cooking for me tonight.  

We're going to put a DVD on and sit back and enjoy our evening.  

He choose well considering I hinted at the new Disney charms for my birthday.  

Unfortunately the Disney charms aren't available until January 2015 at our local store.  

But the fairy is Tink, the castle is Cinderella's as far as I'm concerned.  

I finished my Elf on a Shelf last night.

I started him last January and set him aside and picked him up again two nights ago.  

It's the first time EVER I hand-embroidered a face.  

Now I want to crochet a girl elf!

Take a look at the progression of my birthday cake.  

After sitting awhile it started to split apart down the middle of both layers.  

We were laughing so hard as we tried to catch the layers as they were sliding off. 

Regardless of how awful it looks it tasted delicious.

I won't be doing much decorating this Christmas because most of our decorations are in storage for our move next year.  

I have a few Christmas & Disney things in my Christmas China Cabinet that I can put out though.

It wouldn't be Christmas without some decorations.

Still Christmas Here...

I must make one of these for next Christmas!

Oh, yes...it's still Christmas here. 

However, I did start taking down some of the Christmas decorations today. 

Most of you probably will agree after a while it looks more like clutter than decoration and then I'm ready for a cleaner look.

In the meantime we're enjoying the cold weather by staying indoors - it's too cold to tackle the outside Christmas lights yet.

I've never seen it for sale though at any Disney store.

Yesterday I went to my monthly Embroidery Club. 

We downloaded this beautiful snowflake design to machine embroider and then ironed on crystals to enhance the design.

I may take this piece of fabric and make it into a  cute little bed pillow!

  I picked up my "Party with Patrick" project pattern for December.

My sewing store hosts these monthly events but it appears you can also join the fun on-line too (for a fee).   

The project is a Christmas Banner called "Shining Stars".

Luckily I already bought the digital pattern for the ornament.

I won't be able to use the banner this Christmas but I should have it made for Christmas 2014. 

I picked out my fabric fat quarters yesterday and I'm anxious to start the project.

As far as crocheting... 

I decided to try my hand at crocheting an "Elf on a Shelf" soft toy.  

So far the legs and main body are done.
