I love the warm orange chest of our American Robins.
Just in case you don't have Robins where you live here is some additional information:
American Robins are fairly large songbirds with a large, round body, long legs, and fairly long tail. Robins are the largest North American thrushes. The quintessential early bird, American Robins are common sights on lawns across North America, where you often see them tugging earthworms out of the ground. Robins are popular birds for their warm orange breast, cheery song, and early appearance at the end of winter. Though they’re familiar town and city birds, American Robins are at home in wilder areas, too, including mountain forests and Alaskan wilderness.

Sandy, the robin is just about the only "colorful" bird I see in my area. Great photos. We lost so many birds when they sprayed for West Nile virus. Haven't seen any bluejays or cardinals in a long while. xo,
ReplyDeleteI saw a lot more robins when I lived in Oklahoma than I do in Texas. They are beautiful birds (of course I've rarely met a bird I didn't like. Well, maybe the "death" birds).

Love Robins!! We have sooo many here and they are so fat! They all start singing at 5am with the tree frogs every morning!
