Lazy Days Are Here...

I am so excited!

Yesterday we ordered our new Lazy Boy furniture to replace our old - and I mean OLD...over 25 years old - dark blue (huge) five piece Sears modular unit.

We splurged and ordered two power recliners and one smaller manual recliner for our family room.

Hubby's requirements weren't much - a recliner comfortable for him and one with a high back for neck support!  He's tall at 6 feet.

Our family room is our TV watching room so we wanted to have chairs that would be comfortable to sit in to watch a movie for a few hours.  We decided not to have another sofa in the room just four chairs.  We wanted more room to get to our windows and our wall units.

Here are the two fabrics I picked and Hubby approved.

The flowered blue and red fabric will be placed on the smaller manual recliner (chair style shown above).  This little recliner is very comfortable too.

The solid light blue fabric will go on the two power recliners we ordered.

This is the power recliner style we ordered.

We have Lazy Boy furniture in our living room and love it - you can't beat the comfort.

I like to have the foot rest completely filled in with padding and these chairs fit that requirement.  Oh, I forgot, the power chairs rock too!

I love rockers!!!

We ordered the two power recliners to include the headrest and lumbar options.  The headrest is so neat.  It's going to be great to be able to adjust our head position for TV viewing.

The power positions available are limitless.

Take a look at the remote for the power recliners!
(Sorry for the fuzzy photos - lack of light)

I love the touch of red I'm bringing into our family room.

Red is my favorite color followed by blue!

I moved this blue leather Ethan Allan wingback down to our family room from our upstairs library.

I inherited this lovely chair/ottoman from my brother.

The leather had been badly scratched by a cat so we purchased additional flowered fabric to recover it someday to match the small new recliner.

Now we (...ah...I) have to wait until September to get our new Lazy Boy chairs.

I'm not good at waiting!

I'm good at whining though!

You will have to wait until September to see our new chairs.

So no whining!

More blue and white stripes in this stunning but simple bedroom design!

Wow...I'm sure there is a horn on this magnificent blue eyed animal and this is an unicorn and not a white horse!

Blue Monday

What is it about blue and white?

Next to red my favorite color is blue.

Sometimes blue tops red and sometimes red tops blue depending on my mood or the season I guess.

A blue bedroom is soooo soothing.

Blue plates in a cute dinette...and I like yellow with blue.

These yellow chairs give just the right amount of pop.

Yes...oh, yes...blue stripes...my, oh, my.

Don't these cupcakes look delicious and so pretty in blue!

Both Sarah and her witty assistant, Tommy Smythe, love to use ikat pattern fabric.

I didn't even know this type of pattern had a name until I watched their show.

This is a beautiful blue and white ikat....love, love, love it!

Now that I think about it...a crocheted ripple throw in blue and white ~ in an ikat pattern ~ would be so bluetiful!

I want these blue and white shoes and I don't even wear heels anymore!

My Disney character keys!

We were out shopping today at our mall and I found keys in the Disney characters.

I just had to get them...they had Tinkerbelle, Lady & the Tramp, Minnie Mouse and Winne the Pooh.

I got two sets for each vehicle.  I love them!

I finished my crocheted Petal Flower cushion yesterday but I'm waiting until we have some sunshine to take photos.  It's just too dark and overcast here this week so far.

So you have to keep coming back!

More Blue & White Decor

Our Blue and White Master Bath.

Remember my post (here) about my Blue & White toile drapes and valances in our Master Bedroom?

Today I thought I would share a few photos of our Blue & White Master Bath

The two bird pictures (above) I bought at a gift shop in Shipshewana, Indiana.  I'll have to get a better photo of them to share with you.

The tear-shaped stained glass resting on the tub was handmade by my brother back in the 1980s.

This is a good view of our toile curtains with the checkered blue and white fabric running along the bottom.

The kitty cat is a fabric door stop.

I bought the crocheted doily at a Christmas craft fair two years ago.

And we continued our toile blue and white fabric window treatments here.

Instead of the more formal valance look we had in our Master Bedroom, I had white curtain rods placed here with the blue and white checkered fabric running along the bottom of the toile curtains.

We bought the bird plates on the wall for my in-laws many years ago.

The bathroom walls are painted Benjamin Moore "April Skies"...a very, very light shade of blue.

Sorry this is a little dark.

I love our soaking tub!

That's the tour of our Blue & White Master Bathroom.

Hope you enjoyed it.

My Blue & White Decor

Blue Toile Drapes and Valance

I have always loved Blue & White so I guess that is why I decorated our Master Bedroom and Bath in it.  These are the only custom drapes I have ever had made.

I am still crazy about this blue toile pattern and how it compliments our Benjamin Moore Oriental Silk wall paint color.

Vintage Chenille Bedspread

Sorry...the light isn't the greatest in our bedroom!

This beautiful chenille tuft pattern stands out better with the camera flash off.

I found this beautiful vintage blue and white chenille bedspread at a gift shop in Chesapeake City, Maryland.

It was marked $50 and when I bought it up to the cashier she said I could have it for $40!

What a deal!

It is in perfect condition and it washes up beautifully.

I use it in the summertime on our bed.  It is sooo soft and lightweight.

Pillow Cover Front

This is my latest crochet project.

I whipped up this cute little blue and white pillow cover.

I chained a row of white the length of the pillow.  And then it's just rows of double crochet and single  crochet alternated.

I single crocheted the sides closed and added little button holes on the back.

I crocheted little blue ties rather than using buttons.

Pretty cute, huh?

Celebrating America!

Next weekend is the 4th of July ~ Independence Day ~ here in The States.

We plan to stay home, barbecue and just relax.

One of my favorite TV shows is "Smallville" and I'm so sad that it's come to an end after a decade.  I think Tom Welling was great as Clark Kent.  We never got to see him in the suit either!  Darn!   I will never understand why he hasn't been grabbed up to play Superman on the big screen.  This show had fantastic special effects and a wonderful cast of characters too.  Well done!

Read Tom's article on leaving "Smallville" (here).

We don't have a Blue Door but I sure wish we did after finding these fantastic images on Flickr.

We just had our dark green shutters repainted last year and they go with our front door so we don't plan to change our color anytime soon.  I love the weathered doors in No. 6 & 8!
