Christmas Lights 2008

Christmas 2008 and the outside lights at our home.   You can see the two Serviceberry trees and shrubs we removed in 2009.  The trees were becoming too large for the front and even after clipping and trimming the shrubs they just kept growing back larger and larger.

Another view of the front Christmas 2008...

The back yard view of our screened in porch and deck Christmas 2008.  This is another Serviceberry tree we planted.  The birds love the berries!

We didn't put any exterior Christmas lights up in the back yard this year.  And without the shrubs in the front we mostly highlighted our front door with garland and lights this Christmas.

Do you string Christmas lights outside?

  1. Hi Sandy,
Thanks for your good wishes. We had a lovely night even though the walk home was very hot even at 9 o'clock!
Your home looked lovely with all the lights last Christmas. Have you lived there long. We sold our big home on acreage ( 13 acres )four years ago and moved 5minutes up the road into suburbia.
We bought a house on top of the hill so we wouldn't feel caged in after all the space we were used to and we have settled in well now though it was a difficult move for me. We had lived in the house for 16 years and I really loved it but with the gardens ( about 1 acre around the house ) it was just work, work, work.
We wanted to be able to go awayand leave the house and not come back to an enormous cleanup job so we can travel a bit and then along came the Global Financial Crash and that has put a stop to travelling until now. We have decided that we aren't getting any younger so it's "seize the day" time !!
    Cheers
    Helen
