I'm sitting out on our screened in porch enjoying the sounds and sights of summer.
All the birds and a billion bugs are singing their songs.
Mowers are humming along.
Day lilies are blooming.
Traffic noise far out in the distance.
Lunch and our little daily bike ride finished.
Yep, it's the Good Life and...
I love it!
Life is good! When you start to appreciate the life you have, you start to enjoy it. I think too many people are caught up in wishing for more, more, more. I'm with you . . . the simple things in life, make it special :)
ReplyDeleteYour blog is so charming. I love the post below on bicycling, too.
Have a lovely week.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Sounds like a perfect day! Your flowers are doing great and so pretty. xo
ReplyDeleteWow what a great day...except the bugs. The mosquitos here are horrible... I went to visit my mom in PA Poconos. Not so bad there..How about by you?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteLove each and every sound of the billions of bugs in the summer! When I lived in California, we had crickets...and that was about it. Here, in Virginia, it's a plethora of bugs...and then the hot summer nights bring out the tree frogs calling to their mates...LOVE all those sounds!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy, I'm back. You said in your comment that you where going to checkout the embroidery designs. That must mean that you have an embroidery machine. If so, may I add your blog to my sidebar list? It's nice knowing others that are doing this, so we can bounce questions and ideas off each other :)
ReplyDeleteI've been a follower of yours for quite a while and would be honored to have you follow me back.
Your blog is delightful.
Thanks for visiting and for your sweet comment,
Connie :)
Hi Connie,
DeleteSure... please add my blog to your sidebar!. That's sweet of you! I'm having fun learning my Janome Horizon Memory Craft 12000 sewing/embroidery machine. I've even dragged it to and from classes. Your aprons are so pretty! Quite a few of the ladies in my classes have Brother machine. One is super big...and you're lucky you can get Disney designs. I'm following you too!
It is a good life! Love that rcok path!
ReplyDeleteIsn't retirement a wonderful reward for all those years of hard work?
ReplyDeleteWhen I hear the words "lazy summer days" it brings me back to my childhood. Especially the lace curtain blowing in the breeze. I look forward to finding a few of these days. Beautiful pictures!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandy,
ReplyDeleteI just don't blog as much in the summer so I'm not visiting my usuals very ofter this cuts down on the visitors I have too I find. Your yard looks so controlled to us up here in Alaska. We can't keep ahead of the fast growing natural plants here not with all the light we have so I just try and deal with it best I can. The ground moves here in the winter so there is no coverings of cement or asphalt. Our weeds don't need mats and rocks they grown right on top of it all found that out the first year I came. We're having a lot of visitors this summer. We had the family just leave and Wed we're hosting an artist from Wis who will have a showing at the Pratt Musuem for a little over two weeks then the day she leaves a friend comes to stay for awhile.
Take Care
Nan
The pictures are beautiful!
