LOVE RED and GREEN

RED and GREEN my FAVORITE Christmas Colors!
I bought this linen embroidery piece at the Christmas Craft Fair I attended this month.  I saw the colors peeking out at me in a pile of linens and thought that it would be perfect for displaying at Christmas.   I added one of my crocheted dishcloths that coordinates with it wonderfully.
What colors do you decorate with at Christmas?

Cat in the Tree!

I finally have an animal story to tell everyone.  One day last week I heard a dog barking and found our neighbor's dog, Teddy, looking up at our Red Maple tree in our backyard.  For the life of me I couldn't figure out why he was barking at our tree.  I went out into our yard for a closer look and found out he had "tree'd" a neighborhood cat.  Teddy stared at the cat and the cat stared back at Teddy.

When I went to return our camera to the house Teddy followed me and while we were gone the cat ran away.  I don't know if Teddy would know what to do with the cat if he ever caught it.  I didn't get a photo of Teddy - he's a hoot.  My neighbors got Teddy as a rescue dog - he was wandering loose on an island and he was in sad shape when they bought him home.   But several weeks later with his fur trimmed, lots of love and good food he looked beautiful.  I love dogs.  Which do you like better..cats or dogs?

Crewel Christmas Tree

Maybe this is too up close and personal to view my crewel embroidery Christmas Tree!  Remember when crewel was all the rage back in the 1980s?  This is one I managed to actually finish during my working years.  I wish I had the sense to put the date on this piece.  Of course back then..when ever it was..perhaps the 1980s or possibly the early 1990s...I didn't know that I wouldn't remember  the year I finished this.

See..I think it looks better further away..doesn't it?   Now, if I could just finish the bird feeder crewel embroidery piece that has been sitting around for twenty plus years!  Does crewel embroidery appeal to you?
