Isn't this just the cutest "no smoking" sign?

The puffin is an adorable little bird... we saw many puffin on our boat cruise in the Alaska coastal fjord waters off Seward.

Alaska Hwy - Watson Lake, Yukon

We made it to Watson Lake, Yukon (Canada) on June 13.  On our way here we saw our first grizzly bear on the side of the road on the Alaska Hwy.  We couldn't get a photo because we were pulling our 5th wheel trailer at the time and there was no spot to pull over.

All the little towns along the Alaska Hwy in both Canada and Alaska usually have something to lure travelers to stop.  This town has "The Signpost Forest".  The tradition was started by a lonely G.I. from Danville, Illinois (USA).  He put up a sign for his home town in 1942.  Now there are over 69,000 signs from all over the world.

The first sign by that lonely G.I. was posted in 1942 before there was a town of Watson Lake.

Cute sign...unfortunately we didn't bring a sign to post.

Hubby found this one for Brookpark, Ohio.  My father, mother and oldest brother all worked (and retired from) at the General Motors plant in Brookpark, Ohio.

Alaska Highway - Liard River Hotsprings

On June 13 we stopped at the Liard River Hotsprings Provincial Park in British Columbia.  This park is right on the Alaska Highway.

We parked our RV here.

And walked the boardwalk back to the hotsprings.

Aren't the hotsprings lovely?  They have changing rooms here too.

Here's a view of the spring.

I tested the water...it was HOT!  126 degrees F.  My legs and feet were RED when I got out of the water.  I don't know how these people could stay in it for very long.  We learned there were upper springs that weren't as hot but we didn't visit them.

As we were leaving the hotsprings we saw this sign.  You don't see a sign like this very often in the lower 48!

And this is what we saw just down the road after leaving the hotsprings!  A huge buffalo walking along the side of the road.  That's our truck side mirror in the photo at the bottom.  That's how close to the Alaska Hwy the buffalo is.

Up close and personal (we are still in the truck)!  What beautiful animals.  I wish we had buffalo nickels again.
