Handles Done...

The handles are done on my Fruit Punch Tote - just two single crochet rows in all colors.

I even added one row of green.

The foundation chain is 111 stitches which is longer than the pattern because I like shoulder totes.

I made a paper pattern for the lining but I want to embellish it further by adding some inside pockets and either a zipper or Velcro closure.

The closure depends on what I have in my stash.

Thanks for your suggestions on which fabric to use for the lining.

I'm going with the Hawaiian butterfly fabric but the crazy quilt piece was a close second.

This is all the yarn left over.

Just a teeny tiny piece of green is left.

I'm so glad I had enough to add a row of green in the handles and edge the top of the tote.

Now I have to figure out how I want to do the lining with a closure.

That may take a couple days so you'll have to wait to see the final results.

  3. WOW! great job on your latest project. You've really worked up the tote very quickly! Love every detail-good choice on the lining-that's where I would be stumped- I can't seem to handle a sewing machine-I do okay with hand stitching but I'm a disaster with machine sewing! I can't even get the hang of winding a bobbin!! I've been following your blog for a while now-we seem to have a lot of common interests-I love
to crochet but it takes me forever to finish a project and usually I get bored before I finish! What's your secret to completing so many projects!
Hope your therapy treatments are helping! Linda from AZ

  4. How much time do you put into crochet? It takes me ages. Well, I can't sit and do it for long before getting bored. I love the end result and have been known to do a few things. I like small projects so maybe some granny squares would be the way to go. I did that once for a single bed but sewing them together was a pain.

  5. Heavens you've done that whole thing so quickly!! It's lovely. I'm glad you went with the butterflies. I didn't get around to commenting but that would have been my choice too.
    Cheers
