Color Me Happy!

My First Granny Mandala

Goodness...but I love C.O.L.O.R!!!!

I'm a sucker for trying something new.

I saw this granny pattern on Alice's Crochet With Raymond (here) blog and decided to give her

  Granny Mandala

pattern (here) a try.

This is my first effort.  I must admit I had to fan it out to get it to lay this flat - I don't think I made any mistakes but...who knows... maybe I did.  I love all the colors I used - none are repeated.  I just grabbed from my stash of left over Simply Soft yarn.

Per Wikipedia:  In common use, mandala has become a generic term for any plan, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically, a microcosm of the Universe from the human perspective.

  6. Very pretty! I see why it wouldn't lay flat though. You were supposed to add more than one 3dc between increases as you get farther out. After the first two increase rows, it would be *(3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc)in next space, 3 dc in each of the next TWO spaces*, repeat between * all the way around. Then on the next row where you increase, it would be *(3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc)in next space, 3 dc in each of the next THREE spaces*, repeat between * all the way around.

    Hope that makes sense!

  10. Hi Pammy Sue - I figured I goofed somewhere but I just wasn't sure where. I'll have to write down your instructions for the next ones. Thanks!!

Hi Helsie - the ends weren't bad on this one just two for each row. I even waited to do them all at the end usually I do them as I go along. That's the price of doing grannies and changing colors.

Thanks everyone for the sweet comments. You made my day!
