Finally...all of the white rounds of the 18 color sets are finished...I even sewed all the dreaded ends in...and packed them in plastic bags. I first blogged about this WIP (here) and (here).
I laid them all out on the carpet in rows sorted by 2nd round color.
You can see the one granny square that I edged in black so far.

Where I didn't want to have the first two rounds the same color I used gray as the second round color in the row (i.e., instead of blue on blue it is gray on blue etc.).
This WIP measures 16 granny squares by 18 granny squares or 288 granny squares total. I think it will be a larger sized throw than I originally planned by the time the final black round is added. I'm not sure if I will do the colors by row as shown here or mix them up more. It may be a more colorful throw mixed up.
What do you think - sort by color or mix up?

Wow. Your's is double the size of mine with 288. That's gosh darn big. Hope it's going on a King Bed. It's going to turn out great after the Black is add. I mixed mine up and love it.

Oh my gosh, this is a big wow! I would love to do something like this but I don't know if I have the patience. You are inspiring me though. This is absolutely beautiful. What a treasure! However you put the squares will be perfect. Simply fantastic work!

I love all the color and I Know you've spent quite a bit of time on it! It's marvelous looking with the rows like that, but I'm thinking maybe set the pieces on the floor all mixed up and see what it looks like AFTER you get all the black crocheted on them. you'll know quickly what you should do! There..that's my 2 cents and it's not even worth that much!@!
