Minky

Say "Hello" to Minky.

"Minky" is made out of an old mink stole that belonged to my dear MIL.  One of my BIL's wife's took the mink and had it made into three teddy bears for each of the three DILs.  She surprised us one Christmas with our beautiful teddies.  Every time I look at it I think of my sweet MIL and my thoughtful BIL's wife.  I am so lucky to be part of such a wonderful family.

I have such fond memories of the dishes here.  The cranberry edged one and frosted pink one were my Mother's and she always used these on holidays and Sunday dinners.  It had a smaller matching pink one that, unfortunately, I broke accidentally a few years ago.

My hubby and I eat in our dining room once a year - if we are lucky.  My Mother made a fancy Sunday dinner EVERY Sunday and she worked outside the home!  I don't know how she did it.  And we dressed up!  I remember putting on an apron to protect our "good" outfits when cleaning the kitchen up.  LOL!  How times have changed.

Please join our sweet host, Cindy, at My Romantic Home, (here) for more Show and Tell Friday.

And have yourself a lovely weekend.

  5. Minky is special. Not because he's made of mink, but because he was made by special people. He is a wonderful reminder of loved ones!

  8. Lovely Teddies - bet they are soft to cuddle!
You certainly have been travelling for a long time. Will you come home the same road that you went there or will you go another route?
I think you are very clever to crochet while you are on the road with all the bumps but at the moment I have to really concentrate on what I'm doing. Any way I'm improving. I'd like to have something made before the heat hits us again and I think it is not too far away though it is lovely at the moment.
    Cheers

  9. What a treat. Just popping by to see where you are? When are you getting home my dear friend. We miss you. But, you have been doing really really well keeping in touch while on the road. Yes, my hands are tired. But, already working on the next one. Not a blanket. But, a quick easy shawl. I need a change for a this week. But already have my colors picked out for the next one.
