I Can't Help It

I can't help it...I'm thinking of Christmas already.

Maybe it's because of seeing all the snow on the mountains here in Alaska.    Or maybe it's because I am crocheting my "Merry Kringle" Christmas throw.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year and I love to decorate in reds and greens. This is a photo of our family room from Christmas 2008.

We love this Christmas tree but have decided it is just too heavy for us to drag up and down the basement stairs every year so we are giving it to one of our relatives.   I may replace it with a slim, lighter tree.   I love the new slim trees.  Do you?

Anyone else out there already planning Christmas?  Or am I the only one?

Just a note that Monday evening we will be boarding a ferry from Haines, Alaska, to the state of Washington.  We will be on the ferry four nights.  Unfortunately we learned the ferry doesn't have any internet service soooo unless I can schedule some posts ahead of time to post while we are on the ferry you won't hear from me for at least 4 days next week.   It will seem so strange to leave the state of Alaska and....to not have internet service.

  1. Oh I love Christmas too. Elizabeth is in the mode over there on her blog.
I think you need to hang a tail down on that corner of the RV Jeff keeps running into that would call his attention to it so he can dart around it. I just hung a strip of red on a trailer hitch on a boat in our driveway so the dogs would see it as it was right at their level.

  2. No, NO, NO not Christmas yet! I'm not ready for it or the heat that comes with it. Now if I could just have a COLD, WHITE Christmas I might feel different. So I'm NOT thinking about it yet!!!
Your ferry journey sounds exciting. Keep a lookout for sea otters and orkas along the way.
    Cheers
