Victoria & Albert Museum

Tuesday we walked through Hyde Park to visit the Victoria & Albert Museum. Our tour guide advised that it was a short 15 minutes walk from our hotel across the park. Forty-five minutes later and having to ask locals for directions twice we arrived. It was a nice day and we did enjoy the hike. Although I think the English guide meant a brisk British walk not an American stroll.

We visited two areas of the museum before it closed. It's impossible to see everything...there's just too much. We had a taste of the museum enough that I would love to return. We had fun trying on the "ruffs" (16th century ruffled neck collars).

After leaving the museum we ate at a nearby local restaurant. Our feet were sore and we were very tired so we decided to take the Tube (underground subway) back to the hotel.

It was another great day in London!

  1. I love the V&A building although as yet I have never been inside loving the ruffles. Pleased your having a fantastic trip so far.

  2. Oh I'm glad you are doing so well and seeing lots. You seem to be handling the tube really well too. Well done.
We always add lots of time to walking directions too. It always takes us much longer but we stroll along, get lost, find our way again and soak it all up.
I gather you are posting from your iphone as all the photos come at the bottom of the post. There doesn't seem to be any way around that.
    Keep 'em coming!

  3. Dear Sandy, your trip is going so well and the weather is great as well, so happy for you.;) Have a continuous nice visit, so funny to think we are almost in the same time zone, you are one hour behind.;)
