Patriotic 4th of July Weekend Cake!

Our Stars & Stripes Sheet Cake

Don't laugh...it's suppose to be the United States flag.

My first ever attempt to fully decorate a cake.

I made this from a Duncan Hines classic yellow cake mix and cans of Duncan Hines and Betty Crocker frosting.  My index finger got sore making these frosting "stars" until I found out I could use my thumb to hold the nozzle down.

This is one rich cake...there's also chocolate frosting underneath the red, white and blue frosting.

My Hubby loves frosting.

Vintage Red, White & Blue Tablecloth...I love it!

I love this vintage flowered red, white and blue tablecloth.  It was my Mother-in-law's.

All "decked" out in patriotic colors!

We barbecued hot dogs on the grill...yum, yum...added some fruit and corn on the cob and we had a wonderful meal Saturday.

Wishing all of you a fantastic 4th of July weekend!

  4. Hi there thanks for catching up over on my blog and your comments. Cake turned out quite nice I think. Love the table cloth too.
I could go ahead and have a piece of this it would have no effect on me at all, because I don't normally sugar or gains having a treat here and there is fine it's just not a daily thing.
