American Beauty Finished

Presenting My American Beauty Throw

I finished my American Beauty Throw yesterday.

She is 10 granny squares by 10.

I love her colors of red, white and blue.

Around The Corner Crochet Borders by Edie Eckman

I had fun crocheting the edging.  For the edging I made up the first eight rounds - single crochets of white (2 rounds), then one round of single crochet in red, white and blue; then three white rounds of double crochet, chain one, skip one repeated around (corner has three double crochets).

I used an edging in my new book, Around The Corner Crochet Borders by Edie Eckman, to complete the last three color rounds of blue, red and white.   I love this book!  I highly recommend it for your crochet library.  It has beautiful photos of each border in color with both the written pattern and diagrams.  It's loaded with tips too.

I'm crazy but I love crocheting the granny squares.  I just find it so comforting to work this stitch.

I'm almost finished with decorating.  Hubby and I are setting up a model train track on our dining room table and having so much fun setting up our modest Christmas village.   It's a work in progress.   Here's a sneak peek.

Isn't This Deer and Snowman Cute.  We bought it at Michaels.

Have a wonderful day!
