Souvenirs

I love souvenirs!

The trick now is buying ones that will fit into our little travel van - mainly because of its limited storage.

In some ways that's good...I'm more selective in what I crave and drag home.

I've been known to collect stuffed Teddy Bears.

In fact we nicknamed one of our upstairs bedrooms, "The Teddy Bear," room because it houses all my teddy bears.

We didn't see a Grizzly on our trip to Yellowstone but we did see a Black Bear.

The gift store at Fishing Bridge Campground in Yellowstone had the cutest bears and moose stuff.

We picked this bear to go with my teddy bear collection on my dinette shelf.

Hubby picked out a Grizzy Bear mug from Yellowstone with my name on it.

Wasn't that sweet of him?

I also found a cute Christmas ornament with the Yellowstone Park Grizzlies on it.

And to round out our souvenirs I bought two embroidered old-fashion touristy type tea towels - one for Yellowstone and the other for Wyoming.

And lastly we picked up a fabric map of Yellowstone Park.

I'm planning on framing these.

Oh, yeah, we got more souvenir patches too.

I'm going to make a wall hanging for all of our souvenir patches (and pins) we have collected on our trips since we got married.

We have a whole bunch of them.

That's all folks...thanks for visiting!

One Day To Go

Bunnies and Teddy Bears...

I got lots of them here at Teacup Lane!

Sorry...

I've been so busy readying my home for BUNCO tomorrow night...

both blogging and crocheting have been put aside.

See the cute hat with the rabbit ears on my teddy bear cookie jar?

I'm thinking of wearing that bonnet at BUNCO tomorrow night.

It's a silly thing but I think it will be fun.

Or maybe I'll just let the teddy bear continue to wear it.

This is my bunny water fountain.

I hope I remember to fill it with water and turn it on tomorrow.

The house is clean and ready now.

I'm just gathering stuff for the food preparation and the set up.

This is the cleanest my first floor has been in quite a while.

Starting VERY early with the de-cluttering and sorting through our kitchen drawers ready helped to get rid of lots of paper and other junk.

I missed posting on St. Patrick's Day but I hope you all had a wonderful holiday.

We had a lovely time.

Friends invited us over for a delicious corn beef and cabbage dinner.

Teddies Love Wild Flowers

I'm on my third row of motifs for my Waikiki Wild Flower Blanket.

Sam says "Hi" !

Sam loves sitting among the colorful wild flowers.

What a sweet face!

I love the pink rose headband on Annabel's head.

Annabel and Sam are the best of friends teddies.

Laugh of the day!

Reminds me of getting dental x-rays.

At least that's how my mouth feels.

I Don't Think It's Winter Here!

It's February 1st, sunny and beautiful here - 68 degrees F. warm!

Maybe we don't need to go to Florida this month.

Hubby is busy re-organizing and cleaning out our shed before he puts some of our Christmas decorations and trees out there.

I'm using my Teddy Bear napkin holder above to hold one of my crocheted dishcloths.

I like it!

I use to keep my crocheted dishcloths on display in this canister.

Then I got my Keurig single coffee server...

so now I put my overflow K-cups from boxes that have been opened here.

And I decided to actually use my crocheted dishcloths.

When I first started to crochet again (for the 3rd time) when I retired I practiced different stitches and edgings making LOTS of dishcloths - giving them away as gifts to family and friends.

I like to use Sugar n' Cream 100% cotton - I must say this yarn makes wonderful dishcloths.

And they wash up beautifully.

I'm thinking of making another dishcloth in red, pink and white yarn for Valentine's Day!

I hope it's as nice where you are today as it is here.

Stay tuned I may be having a super duper give-away soon.

Meet My Sweet Henry!

This is Henry, my adorable Queen's Guardsman, in his bright red coat.

Several years ago, while still working, my Hubby made his first, and only, business trip abroad to The Netherlands.

On his way home he stopped for the day in London.

Imagine my surprise when he got home and pulled this cute fellow out of his suitcase.

One of Henry's Mates!

Although Henry will miss guarding the Queen with his fellow mates, he was very happy to come live with us across the Pond.

I'm Henry, the Queen's Guardsman!
What a Hubby!

Here he was, very limited on time, and trying to do some sightseeing in London and he thinks of me and stops in Harrods to buy a teddy bear for me!

What a wonderful loving gesture!

I never thought I would have anything from Harrods!

And especially not something so cute as Henry.

Thanks sweetie!

Love Ya!

I Love My Pandora Bracelet!

Of course I have a Teddy Bear and Snowman charm!

I've never been crazy about jewelry...that is...until I discovered Pandora!

Pandora has a wonderful website where you can join the Pandora Club.  Once you are a member you can go to "My Jewelry" and list all of the charms you have purchased.  It's a nice way to keep track of your charms.

And you can enter the charms you would like to have under "My Wish List".  That's a nice feature for your loved ones to access for those special occasions like your birthday and anniversary.  There's even an Pandora app for the iPhone too!

The red heart charm and Topaz bead (my birthstone) were the first ones my Hubby bought for me for Valentines!

It's hard for me to say which charm is my favorite.

I love them all!

Most of them have been gifts from my Hubby.

Thanks so much sweetie!

I call the coach charm "Cinderella's Coach"!

Both the Sea Shell charm and Cinderella's Coach charm represent my love of Walt Disney World!

So far I don't buy the gold ones because they are way too expensive.

But you can find less expensive charms in silver.

I "need" to add some more color...some pinks, yellows and oranges.

Beautiful!

I have a Teapot charm to represent my blog, "Teacup Lane"!

I love to wear my Pandora bracelet!

Maybe it's time to start another bracelet.  LOL!

I have purchased a red leather bracelet that I will probably use for all of my Christmas silver charms.  I'm lacking Christmas colors so I've been drooling over all the red and green glass charms.

What do you think?

Do you like Pandora?

This photo was taken with my Hubby's Canon Rebel EOS XSi with Macro Lens 100 mm
(the other photos shot with my Canon PowerShot S80 macro setting)

What's Black, White & Red All Over?

Is it a pretty kitchen?

Maybe a stairwell?

Or perhaps a red headboard and bedding??

Nope, it's Sushi!

My black & white mohair teddy bear...with a beautiful red heart nose!

Isn't she adorable?

What's not to love about a face like this?

Sushi is from the Annette Funicello Collectible Bear Company
Every time I look at her I smile giggle.

Annette Funicello (of Mickey Mouse Club and teen beach movie fame) founded the Annette Funicello Collectible Bear Company in 1992 to fund research of neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis, with which she had been diagnosed in 1987. Funicello teamed with world-renowned Teddy bear artists "to share with people all over the world the comfort and love a Teddy bear brings."

Sitting Pretty!

Sitting Pretty!

My teddy bears, Sam and Tiercy, are wishing you a very wonderful summer weekend!

Sam is the brown Ty bear and Tiercy is the cute, girl bear with the rose head band.  Tiercy is my paternal Grandmother's name and I always thought that it was an unusual and pretty name which fits this adorable teddy bear just perfectly.

Vintage Wicker and two cute Teddy Bears, Tiercy and Sam.

This vintage wicker chair is one of a pair handed down from my paternal Grandparents to my parents and then to me.

I first remember seeing them on my Grandparents' screened porch in a house they were renting in either Akron or Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio back in the 1950s.

My Mom had the cushions recovered in this pretty fabric for her Florida room years ago.  Check out one of my previous posts (here) about my sewing project with some of this left over fabric.

Talent Round Up Day!

Hi I'm "Friday"!

My Mickey Mouse Club Teddy Bear!

The "Mickey Mouse Club" week ended on Friday with "Talent Round-Up Day."

Mickey closed out the week-long fun on a western theme, wearing a ten-gallon hat and spinning a lariat.

He launched the show with a friendly "Hi, pardners!" to ready us to join the Mouseketeers clothed in their best cowboy and cowgirl finery.

Music for Friday's show was written by George Bruns, lyrics by Gil George (pseudonym for frequent contributing lyricist, studio nurse Hazel George):

Saddle your pony, here we go
Down to the talent rodeo.
Gather up Susie, Jack and Joe,
Join the talent round-up.
Round 'em up, bring 'em in,
Everybody's sure to win.
Step right up, here we go,
Oh, what a rodeo!
Bring along Dinah, Bob and Bill,
Ask everybody on the hill.
We're gonna have a great big thrill,
Join the talent round-up.
Round 'em up, bring 'em in,
Everybody's sure to win.
Step right up, here we go,
Oh, what a rodeo!
Bring along Mary, Jim and Moe,
Ask everybody you may know.
We're going to have a great big show,
Join the talent round-up.
Step right up, step right up,
Here we go, here we go,
Join the round-up rodeo!

I don't know about you but everyday after school in the 1950s I came home and watched the Mickey Mouse Club and then America Bandstand.

My favorite Mickey Mouse Club day was "Talent Round-Up Day"!

I loved watching the Mouseketeers dance out on the stage on their "ponies".  Here's a fun clip of that opening!

(Don't forget to go down to the bottom of my blog and turn the sound down on My Podmix music so you can hear this video.)

This is a fantastic book giving the history of the Mickey Mouse Club and it's loaded with lots of photos.

Who's your favorite?

All of the Mouseketeers were so talented.

I liked Annette and Darlene!

Marty, Annette and Spin

Even my Hubby watched the Mickey Mouse Club serial "Spin and Marty"!

The first season's show was about boys at a summer horse camp.

The next season they bought the girls in probably because the boys were getting older.

Mr. Jimmie Dodd

A great man!
Don't you wish we had TV shows like this now?

Good, clean, fun shows...teaching kids principles for living.

My Annette Funicello Mickey Mouse Club Talent Round Up Teddy Bear

I finally got my Mouse ears when I bought this adorable Teddy Bear from the Annette Funicello Collection.

We're planning on taking an RV trip down to Walt Disney World (Hurray!) in Florida this fall in our new travel van.

And maybe a stop at Univeral Studios to see Harry "Hogwarts" Potter Land too.

And...then on to the Florida Keys for some snorkeling fun.

So...were you a Mouseketeer fan?
