Red Alert !

Yesterday I took down my tan and white Cabin Check Country Curtains valances and hung up my new RED Buffalo Check valances.

This is a different style (i.e., pleated scalloped vs. Austrian valance) and it's nice to have a change.   I still have to fan these out correctly.

 I usually switch out my valances every six months putting the lighter colored ones up for spring and summer and my burgundy ones for fall and winter.

These are labeled as RED but the color is closer to burgundy. 

 It's more of a dark red than a bright red.

Our new Lazy Boy chairs are being delivered tomorrow. 

 That's when I will know if the new valances go with the new furniture.

We should have more room in our family room after the old huge five piece modular unit is taken away which included a two seat double bed sleeper sofa, two recliners, a huge corner seat and an armless chair. 

 The five piece modular unit was really bought for our previous home where we had a long and narrow family room. 

 In its place we will have four chairs only and no sofa.

My Rainbow Scrap afghan is coming along.

But it shows the color sections for you to see.  

The two sections to the left are the ones I added more shades of yarn to each color section.

 I've just finished working up another red shade section (the 4th one) and will start on another section of the oranges and yellows.

PWRVEC Rally & Hershey RV Show 2012

We had a beautiful long weekend attending a PWRVEC Rally and Hershey, PA RV Show 2012. 

(PWRVEC = "Pleasure Way RV East Coast" club members )

This was our campsite at Highmeadows Campground in Hershey. 

 It's across the street from Hershey Park where the RV Show was held. 

 A lovely creek runs right next to our site.

There were 68 Pleasure Way travel vans and 129 people at the rally. 

 They put up this huge tent for our activities. 

 We had a wine and cheese gathering the first night of the rally and a pot luck supper the last night.

This huge barn is the Highmeadows campground's store and office.

Last year the campground was closed due to the floods during the RV Show.   

Water reached to the top of the first floor ceiling in this building  -20 feet high! 

Our rally had to be moved to another campground further away.

It's amazing the work that was done to clean up the mess - everything looked clean and new.

 We visited the RV Show on Thursday and Friday before the huge weekend crowds appeared.

Some of the small Class B's and C's had a newer style of refrigerator that was tall and slim rather than short and boxy.

For those of you that are clueless when it comes to RVs.  

There are three general "classes" of recreational vehicles.  

Usually the largest of RVs are Class A's which are the motor homes, down in size are the Class C's which are built with a truck front and a separate body that are joined together and the smallest RVs are the Class B's which are built on a van body and are all one piece.

Our RV, a Pleasure Way travel van, an Excel TS model, is built on a van body with a Ford E350 chassis.   

Back to the refrigerator.

There's a lot of room inside this baby!

Winnebago always has nice Class C RV units. 

 This one had a neat sofa that becomes two recliners and/or a bed at the touch of a button.

I tried to get a photo of the RV Show. 

 This is just one section that shows rows and rows of different RVs going off into the distance.

This show is huge!

Downtown Hershey has these adorable street lamps shaped like Hershey Kisses alternating between an unwrapped chocolate kisses and wrapped silver kisses.

After all this is the town that chocolate built!

And I'll leave you with a view of Pleasure Way's newest model - a slightly larger unit - more of a "B+" than "B" called "The Pursuit". 

 One of our Pleasure Way club members ordered the first one to come off the line in November.

This is the reason why we like to RV!  

Our home is where our heart is!  

And our bathroom (most important)...our bedroom...our kitchen...and our living room!!!!

LOL !

Oh, I almost forgot, we were so busy over the weekend I never even picked up my crochet hook!

When we got home we had great news.  

I'm so excited..our new Lazy Boy chairs are in and are now scheduled to be delivered this week!

Country Curtains Time

My Red Buffalo Check Country Curtains arrived. 

 I think they will go with the flowered fabric I order for two of my wingback chairs.

Of course I won't know for sure until the chairs are delivered. 

 It's been about six weeks since we placed the order for the Lazy Boy chairs so I'm hoping they will be here within the next few weeks.

We've packed our travel van for our short RV trip to Hershey, PA tomorrow.

For my readers not familiar with Hershey, Pennsylvania, it's known for being the town built on chocolate.

The Hershey RV Show is huge. 

We can't even visit all of the displayed campers and motor homes. 

 There's just too many spread over a huge parking lot area. 

 We usually pick a few RV manufacturers we are interested in to view their new campers.

We bought another memory form mattress cushion for our bed in the van. 

This one is four inches thick. 

 We put it on top of our previous 1 and 1/2 inch one. 

 It's so soft and comfy.

Back to my new Country Curtains...the two valance sets that will go over the kitchen sink aren't lined. 

I'm going to line them because the sun shines thought that window fairly strong.

It's a beautiful day here. 

 Hubby has our travel van hooked up to electricity to cool down the small refrigerator so we can pack our frozen and cold stuff. 

Clothing is packed and out there. 

 A small selection of DVDs and books are loaded. 

 I'll probably leave my Rainbow Scrap Throw at home and take another smaller crochet project with us. 

The Rainbow Scrap Throw project takes many different colors of yarn and will take up too much space in the van.  I may take just a few skeins of yarn to practice crocheting the flower for the Waikiki Wild Flower Blanket.  

We're excited about getting away for a few days. 

 I may not post until we get home but I'll tell you all about our trip.
